🎓 Eligibility, Age Limit & Salary

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th Class) Examination from a recognized Board/University as of the crucial date.

Salary (Pay Level 3)

Basic Pay Scale: ₹21,700 – ₹69,100/-.
Note: Sepoy in NCB is usually Pay Level-1 (₹18,000 - ₹56,900).

Age Limit (18 to 23 Years)

Candidates should be between 18 and 23 years of age. Category-wise age relaxations apply:

  • SC/ST: 5 Years Relaxation (Up to 28 Years)
  • OBC: 3 Years Relaxation (Up to 26 Years)
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 Years after deduction of military service

📚 Detailed Subject-Wise Syllabus

General Intelligence and Reasoning:

Analytical aptitude and ability to observe and distinguish patterns. Topics include Analogies, Similarities and differences, Spatial visualization, Spatial orientation, Visual memory, Discrimination, Observation, Relationship concepts, Arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, Arithmetic number series, Non-verbal series, Coding and decoding, etc.

General Knowledge and General Awareness:

Current Events, India and its neighboring countries, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research. Questions do not require special study of any discipline.

Elementary Mathematics:

Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions, Relationship between Numbers, Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Ratio and Time, Time and Work, etc.

English / Hindi:

Candidates' ability to understand basic English/Hindi, basic comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and sentence structure will be tested.

💡 PREPARATION STRATEGY

  • Time Management is Key: You only have 60 minutes for 80 questions. Prioritize Hindi/English and GK to save time for Mathematics.
  • Daily Physical Practice: Do not wait for the CBT results. Start light running (5km for males) immediately to build stamina over 3-4 months.
  • Master Mock Tests: Attempt at least one full-length mock test daily during the last 30 days to get used to the online interface and negative marking pressure.
  • Focus on Math Fundamentals: Stick to 10th-level arithmetic (Profit & Loss, Percentages, Time & Work). Advanced math is rarely asked.
