How to Remove Grey Shadows from Your Signature Photo (For Exam Forms)

By ExamPhotoResizer Team2 Min Read

The Problem with Mobile Signature Photos

We have all been there: you sign a piece of paper, take a photo with your smartphone, and upload it to the exam portal. The next day, your application is rejected because the signature background is "grey" or has shadows on it.

Government exam portals like SSC and UPSC have strict OCR software. If your signature photo has a yellow tint from your room lighting or dark shadows from your phone, their system cannot read the ink, and they will reject the form. They require pure black ink on a pure white background.

How to Fix It Automatically

You don't need a scanner or Photoshop to fix this. You can use our free Signature Cleaner tool to digitally purify your photo.

  1. Go to the ✨ Sig Cleaner tab on ExamPhotoResizer.com.
  2. Upload your dark, shadowy signature photo.
  3. The tool will automatically strip away the shadows, turn the paper pure white, and darken your ink.
  4. Click Clean & Download.

Your signature will now look like it was scanned on a professional office printer, guaranteeing it passes the portal's strict background checks!
