South Central Railway (SCR) Apprentice Recruitment 2026
The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), South Central Railway (SCR) has released the official notification (No. SCR/P-HQ/RRC/111/Act. App/2025-26) for the engagement of 2,801 Act Apprentices. Eligible candidates with 10th Pass and an ITI Certificate can apply online. Note: There is NO written exam for this recruitment.

⚠️ Attention: Who Can Apply?
As per Para 1.0 of the notification, only candidates residing in the following districts under the jurisdiction of South Central Railway are eligible to apply. You must provide proof of residence.
- ✅ Telangana: All districts are eligible.
- ✅ Andhra Pradesh: All districts EXCEPT Manyam, Srikakulam, and Vijayanagaram.
- ✅ Maharashtra: Akola, Amaravati, Aurangabad, Beed, Chandrapur, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Nasik, Parbhani, Washim & Yavatmal.
- ✅ Karnataka: Balki, Bellari, Belgam, Bidar, Gulbarga, Kalaburgi, Raichur & Yadgir.
- ✅ Tamil Nadu: Vellore.
- ✅ Madhya Pradesh: Burhanpur & Khandwa.

Candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 24 years of age as of the closing date.

Mandatory Qualification: The candidate must have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The candidate must also possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in the notified trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Note: Engineering graduates and diploma holders are NOT eligible to apply for this notification.

⚙️ Selection Process (No Written Exam)
Selection will be entirely based on a Merit List. There will be no written test or viva-voce conducted.
- The merit list will be prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained in the 10th Class / Matriculation (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) and the ITI examination marks.
- Both 10th and ITI marks will be given equal weightage (50/50).
- In case two candidates have the same marks, the older candidate will be given preference.
- If the dates of birth are also the same, the candidate who passed the 10th Class examination earlier will be selected.
🖥️ How to Apply Online?
Step 1 (Mandatory): Before applying on the Railway portal, candidates must register their profile 100% on the official National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) website: www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in to generate an RDAT Registration Number.
Step 2: Visit the official South Central Railway (SCR) website at scr.indianrailways.gov.in.
Step 3: Navigate to the "About Us" > "RRC-SCR" webpage and click on the "ONLINE ACT APPRENTICE APPLICATION" link.
Step 4: Select your State and District. Upload a valid proof of residence, enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number, Mobile Number, and Email ID.
Step 5: Fill in your educational details, enter the RDAT Registration Number, and select your preferred Railway Establishments for training (choose only the units notified for your trade).
Step 6: Upload a recent color passport-size photograph (Max 1MB, JPEG, 100 DPI), signature, and educational certificates in PDF format.
Step 7: Pay the ₹100 application fee online (if applicable) and submit the form.

Can candidates from UP or Bihar apply for this SCR Apprentice?
No. According to the official notification, only candidates residing in specific districts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Madhya Pradesh (Burhanpur & Khandwa only) are eligible.
Is there any written exam or interview?
No, there is absolutely no written test or viva-voce. Selection is purely based on a merit list created by averaging your 10th standard and ITI marks.
Can Diploma or Engineering Graduates apply?
No. Engineering graduates and diploma holders are strictly not eligible to apply for apprenticeships under this specific notification.
